Day 45 - Fasting For Weight Loss - Still Going Strong!

Losing weight is certainly a challenge for many. There are many different options and diets, but few seem to work, and many of them tend to be extremely unhealthy. It can leave a person frustrated and at a loss as to how to lose weight in a healthy manner.



Weight loss has become a very popular regime today because of the growing obesity problems. Our sedentary, stressful and fast lifestyle has mainly contributed to unwanted and excess weight problems.
People are becoming more and more conscious about the health benefits they can gain by losing extra weight. Thus, there is one effective way of gaining health benefits by fasting for weight loss.

Fasting means willingness to refrain or to stop eating or drinking or both for a certain of time. There are several reasons that a person wants to fast depending on his/her personal lifestyle to get benefits from his/her goals, beliefs or even health issues particularly in fasting for weight loss.

To lose weight speedily, is the main benefit of fasting.Becoming more organized, more committed in relationships, showing more self confidence and more at peace and lose more weight are some benefits of it. By fasting, you give rest to your stomach which is needed by the body. Being free to toxins, redirecting your spiritual time, having reasonable and balanced mind are some good sides of fasting. It's a time when your body can do its internal cleaning.

Due to physiological changes that take place in the body, there is more bad side of fasting. Headaches, nausea, muscle aches, cardiac problems, and protein malnutrition are some of these bad sides. Severe attacks of gout or a uric acid kidney stone can be the cause of fasting and some people have felt hormonal changes.

Where do we cross the line from healthy concern to obsession?  The simplest way for me to answer this important question is by creating what I believe is a balanced and healthy lifelong weight management program, avoiding the endless seesaw action of gaining and losing weight through fad dieting.

However, keep a few things in mind while choosing fasting for weight loss as a measure getting healthy. Fasting makes no sense to your body, if you do not make permanent and positive changes in your diet.
